Who Will Save The Strong

When there is a sadness in your heart and you feel the weight of the world upon it
And every breath is harder and harder to breathe
Your body is filled with an angst that is so deep that your mind pulls your spirit down in despair.
You aren’t familiar with this depth of angst. Because it isn’t you.
Your inner spirit struggles to hold on to that light. That spark that is you.
As the inner melancholy symphony of emotions swirls within you. Stirs you.
The pit in your stomach gives you the same feeling of standing on the edge of a cliff.
And it fills you with fear.
Fear of falling. Falling into a deeper midst of sadness.
The fear of ……… who is going to pull you out of this one?
It’s always you pulling others out.
Who will be strong enough to save you when the strong need saving?
And because you lack confidence but still love those near you – you fear.
That there will be no one. They will get sucked in too.
And you let the agony of the moment swirl around you as a tornado of darkness.
You stop stirring.
And you listen.
You listen for that voice of hope.
That voice of spirit to call to you.
You listen and watch for that ray of light.
One that only takes a tiny speckle to ignite that hope.
And you gasp as you fill your lungs full of courage.
You pull your survival into your lungs and you reach forth.
You touch the strand of possibility that lingers in your mind
And you grab it and hold on to pull you out.
Who saves the strong? When there are none?
Who pulls us out when we are weary?
Who will be my true heroine?
I see the light
And I climb towards an eternity of possibility.
And as I surface from the darkness.
I fill my body with the emotion of overcoming
That renews my strength and fortifies my spirit
I will.
I will.
I will.
I will save the strong.
I will save the strong that need saving.
I will save myself.
And I will be my own hero.
