Estoy viviendo sin vivir,
Estoy muriendo sin poder morir.
-Maná, Mándame Una Senal
I'm existing without living
and I am dying without being able to die.
Some of the most powerful words ever written that hit me to the very core.
Lyrics from my favorite rock band, Mana in their song - Mandame Una Senal.
Existing without living, dying without being able to die.
How many of us exist without living?
And how many of us feel dead inside without dying?
It's sad.
The fact that there are so many of us that walk in pain, in a constant daily agony.
With the burden of just being.
The daily burden of all of the things, situations, people, baggage and hurts and habits - that weigh us down to the point that we are no longer able to live. No longer able to move. No longer able to breathe. No longer able to love.
We are dead inside.
We have become a shell of a person carrying sorrows too great to even to begin to explain and unravel.
the thought of detangeling that web we have weaved so tightly - is even painful to think about.
Even though, every painstaking movement to undo and unravel - will set us free and bring us relief.
Sometimes we rather sit in our prison of pain instead of bearing the unthinkable pain that would only be for a temporary moment.
How do we get to be this person?
This lifeless person.
How did we let it get so out of hand that we lose hope in ourselves?
Is our hope so buried that it's hard to see that glimmer of hope.
To feel that spark that tries to ignite when someone tries to bring it out of us, when we feel a spark of something that might bring that flame to life again?
Do we ever really fully understand the power of a grain of hope can have on our will.
Our will to release ourselves from the prison....that in all honesty.....we, most likely, created ourselves.
We have to overcome the burden of that albatross.
We have to overcome the fear of walking through that storm.
We have to overcome the fright of drowning in the water.
And we have to swallow the horror of taking that first step and jumping into the unknown.
we cannot continue walking through life - lifeless and dead without living and dying.
we have to understand that all though we may not be able to forget about our burdens truly and completely - there is life after them.
There is a ray of hope.
A grain of freedom.
There is a way out.
Our spirit - even when broken to the core - and left for dead... has an amazing resilience to it.
And to witness the rising of the phoenix under such extreme and excruciating circumstances
is a miracle in and of itself.
The rising of the phoenix.
we never once stop to think just how many people have risen from their own ashes.
How many truly have a story that would leave us speechless.
at the courage and the determination that it took to rise up and above through adversity.
All from one little spark.
Never underestimate the power of one spark.
Because all it takes is ONE SPARK to be DYNAMIC!
